Since its inception in April 2012, SolarCurator.com has provided hundreds of hand-picked selections of global solar industry news and features blended with original commentary. Helmed by chief curator and veteran solar/high-tech editor-blogger Tom Cheyney, the site has become one of the go-to alternative media outlets in the industry, offering timely viewpoints and freshly culled content and ideas from throughout the global solar energy community.
For those familiar with the original SolarCurator layout, you’ll notice a cleaner look and feel with our responsive second-generation design. The SolarCurator editorial model has also evolved toward inclusion and collaboration, featuring regular and guest contributors in addition to Tom’s trademark, high-signal-to-noise-ratio commentaries. As part of this open approach, we welcome solar-obsessed content providers and marketers to share your words, photos, and videos, participate in our social media efforts on Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn, and look for us at major industry conferences and tradeshows. We’ve also added a limited number of sponsorship opportunities for forward-looking solar companies and brands to support the SolarCurator experience.
With over a quarter-century of high-tech and renewable energy publishing, communications and marketing experience, Tom Cheyney is a wise old dog that can still learn new tricks. Before joining Impress Labs as its solar practice director in January 2012 and starting up SolarCurator in April of that year, Tom served as a senior editor/lead blogger of PV-Tech/Photovoltaics International and the editor-in-chief of MICRO magazine, one of the leading B2B technology trade magazines for the semiconductor manufacturing industry back in the day. A proud alumni of the University of Southern California and Returned Peace Corps Volunteer, Tom lives in Los Angeles with his wife Cassandra and daughter Brenna. He can be reached via email at firstname.lastname@example.org. You can also follow Tom on Twitter via his @solarcurator and @cheynman handles or join in the Facebook and LinkedIn conversations at the SolarCurator page and group, respectively.
Nick Richardson is the latest addition to the SolarCurator team, having joined the online platform in June 2013. Although a relative newcomer to the editorial game, he has more than four years of experience in the solar industry and has seen first-hand the recent highs and lows of the burgeoning market. Prior to joining SolarCurator and Inpress Media Group, Nick worked in various business development and sales functions at Solar Media. A graduate of Lancaster University (UK), Nick divides his time between our Phoenix, San Francisco, and London offices as well as attending key industry events. In addition to reading his regular SolarCurator posts, you can follow Nick on Twitter via @solarboy2014. Nick can be reached via email at email@example.com.
